Patrick Stewart leads arts honours with a knighthood

Stage and Star Trek actor Patrick Stewart has received a knighthood in the New Year Honours list for his services to drama.

[...]

Sir Patrick, born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire and known for a string of theatre and screen roles, said he was "very proud" to be made a knight, adding the theatre has always been his "great joy".

"In particular the past six years have given me acting opportunities that at one time I could not have imagined possible.

"This is an honour that embraces those actors, directors and creative teams who have in these recent years helped fill my life with inspiration, companionship and sheer fun," said Sir Patrick.

Huzzah!

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song, and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking

That's pretty cool he got the title!

If you take the numbers from the order that each letter in Berman's name is in the alphabet, times it by 217.678, divide it by the number of people that quit watching ENT, integrate this value onto an exponential graph, the gradient of this graph is in fact 5318008 which spells "boobies" upside down.

Well, just back from meeting and talking to the man in the flesh. A pleasant 2hr cocktail party here in Melbourne.

He's a really nice guy. He spent a good 20 minutes in our little group (about 10 people) talking about the Tennis (the Aus Open is on right now down the road), his agelessness and his love of theatre, particuarly 'The Christmas Carol'. Oh and he sat in my chair - I shalt never wash my ass again - kidding diablotin.gif Plenty of professional candid photos were taken with myself, The Treg and Sir Patrick - but they will be copyrighted to the photographer so won't be able to post them.

Tomorrow - professional one-on-one photo, Q&A talk and autos. Huzzah! biggrin.gif

I could say - "the one with the glasses", but given this was a Trek Convention that doesn't narrow it down much wink.gif tongue.gif
