30th Anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation

Recommended Posts

Star Trek: The Next Generation celebrated its 30th anniversary a few days ago. The series premiered in syndication in the United States the week of September 28th, 1987. I actually forgot all about the anniversary until I saw a tweet from Wil Wheaton yesterday.

To celebrate, here are some early promotional spots and news coverage from 1987:

I'm only slightly older than TNG, so this makes me feel ancient.

Happy 30th, TNG!

I wow, I just realized that I'm older then all the Star Trek spinoffs. Only the original series and the some of the original cast movies are older than me.

Happy birthday TNG

I remember watching Encounter at Farpoint with my girlfriend in her dorm room my sophomore year of college. I wasn't exactly impressed, but it was good to have Trek back on the air.

I was in the 2nd grade of elementary school.  I remember liking it and missing the TOS characters.  I was wanting Kirk to show up and kill Worf because he was a Klingon.. lol.  I was a kid afterall :P
