  1. Found this on a reddit post today in r/startrek. It appears that this guy has an original first version of what would eventually become the Voyager theme song, fascinating.
  2. Here's a little interview with Jason ISaacs (Gabriel Lorca) Some interesting tidbits, https://trekmovie.com/2017/10/02/jason-isaacs-explains-lorcas-study-and-whats-up-with-landry-from-star-trek-discovery-ep-3/
  3. Anyone else try out 3D printing?

We had a 3D printer at my old workplace (School), it was pretty neat. I printed out a Yoda face haha.
  4. I ran into him at PAX in Seattle once, he ignored me I bet he was tired of getting pestered by Star Trek fans all over the convention floor.
  5. Not to my Knowledge, I do know that Doyle, Daniel Jackson and Rebecca are still alive and well on Facebook land, as well as One of Thirteen (though he's gone incommunicado the last 5 years or so, doesn't go on the internet anymore as far as I can tell, but I know hes still kicking around cause he lives around the area)
  6. 15 (!) years later...

And I still can't figure out how to change my Rank back
  7. I liked this episode much more than the first two, this is great! After talking with some friends the idea came up that by the end of this series Captain Lorca will go off the deep end after trying to commit genocide (Using the Spores?) and at some point in his madness he will rechristen himself, Garth of Izar. Michael Burnham will be forced to have to make a decision whether or not to Mutiny once again; this time for all the right reasons, to stop a madman. (As a side note, He is super shifty and I highly suspect that he is hiding something. And that creepy collection he has in his study, a Gorn Skeleton, and keeping that giant tardigrade (water bear) from the USS Glen is kiiiiind of weird) Another subject that came up was, is the USS Discovery run by Section 31? I have my doubts to that theory, but my friend was drawing conclusions from the Black comm badges and the hush-hush of everything. He also said the Registry (NCC-1031) pointed to Section 31 too, but I think he was stretching that logic a bit. haha
  8. OL Chats 2003

I was looking through some of my old files the other day and I found these old transcripts from the OL Chats we used to have on AIM. I found copies for October, November and part of Dec 2003, careful some of the content is a little bit cringe worthy! ( I was a lot younger then, haha) Enjoy! OL Chat - October 2003 OL Chat - November 2003 OL Chat - December 2003 (Partial)
  9. 15 (!) years later...

I was young then, and I'm still young! (Under 30!)
  10. DS9, but I happen to be only half way through TNG's second season, gotta watch them in Chronological order!
  11. Star Trek: Discovery

I liked it overall. I tried to describe it to my friend as Star Trek meets Battlestar Galactica, with a sprinkling of Game of Thrones storytelling and some inspiration from JJ'verse on the aesthetic. Though I'm a fan of all of the above, so take that for what it's worth. The first 30 min of the first episode reminded me the most of the old trek, and the idea of Exploring the unknown and the majesty of space, I really liked it. My main point of pain through watching the episodes was how painful all the Klingon scenes were for me (Talking so.. Slow, and their voices sound obviously like they're wearing prosthetic teeth) Not to mention the retcons on the designs of their ships and uniforms (Really, how are we supposed to go from THIS to something resembling their ships in TOS in 10 years?) Overall though: I'm eagerly awaiting the next episode next week!
  12. Star Trek: Discovery

    Release Date: September 24th 2017 (We'll see! :P) http://www.startrek.com/article/star-trek-discovery-sets-premiere-date
  13. Anyone getting logged in as someone else?

    Same situation for me.
  14. Star Trek: Discovery abbreviation?

At first I thought the title was Star Trek Discovery Aberration, thought it was quite fitting! Anyways, I am on board with DSC as well. STD is an unfortunate pairing of letters for a Star Trek show, and because of that it will most likely be the one people use who don't like the show.
  15. Star Trek: Discovery

  16. Anyone getting logged in as someone else?

It's been happening for me for the last week or so. It might be an issue with the SQL database returning the wrong information, but I haven't played with BBoards before Let's roll the dice and see if this comes out as me!
  17. 15 (!) years later...

Back in the day when I went by 'Captain_Helburn'.... That was so long ago, I've grown a lot since then!
  18. Where is the TOS Engine Room?

Trekyards brings up an interesting question, where is Main Engineering on the USS Enterprise? I've always imagined the Engine room should be in the Secondary Hull, and then he pulls out a set of Blueprints signed by Gene Roddenberry which throws that out the window! Thoughts?
  19. Hello!

Hey it's you! It's been a long time! I also dropped off the side of the earth for quite a few years until I rediscovered the bookmark in the "old Bookmarks" section of my browser! Life is great, start a new job next month. How has life treated you?
  20. Star Trek: Discovery

Some Actor Fluff pictures from on set in Toronto. (Non-Spoilery) http://trekmovie.com/2017/03/17/star-trek-discovery-cast-and-crew-tease-behind-the-scenes-photos/
  21. Star Trek: Discovery

I've heard rumours that the new series may be in the form of an Anthology series, with each season being dedicated to a different story (and era?) Has anyone been able to collaborate that?
  22. I'll start with a site that I've used for many years, http://www.ninite.com - recently reinstalled your OS? getting tired of hunting down all the .exe and .msi files? ninite takes care of that for many commonly used programs. Another good one is, http://noexcuselist.com/ - a great list of places to go learn how to do things! Want to learn Art or Coding but don't know where to start?
  23. The Expanse

Hey, has anyone else watched this series? Last year I watched the first episode without knowing what I was getting into and was pleasantly surprised! Some of the things in the show that pleased me was how much detail was put into the universe in relation to ship physics and with building a living breathing solar system. Ships don't magically start and stop in space, inertia is a real thing, when accelerating the crew has to strap into crash couches and take drugs to keep awake, and when they are almost at their destination they have to flip the ship around and accelerate in the opposite direction to stop the ship. The entire show takes place in the Solar system and there are Two major powers and a Third minor Power, Earth, Mars and the Belt. Earth acts like the Old Guard, it will do anything to keep things in line with their goals, even if that means destroying a protesting mining station to make a statement. Mars is a newer Power, having overthrown Earths rule, whole generations had been dedicated to terraforming Mars, but soon realized they needed to build a technologically superior Navy to keep Earth in check. The Belt is where all the water and materials from the Outer Planets get funneled into and then shipped out to Earth and Mars, there is growing unrest in the Belt due to the rationing of water, food, and increasing taxes from Earth and Mars. After watching the first season I went out and bought the Book series, the show was very true to the book (with some changes to make it a TV Series), and I would recommend the book to anyone looking for a new Sci-Fi series to dig into. How about you? Have you watched The Expanse? What has been your experience?
  24. Star Trek Academy Experience

Hey guys, been a while since I've been here! It's been a couple years, lots has happened! In short, went to school (For IT Tech), got married, and been working in IT for the last 5 years. Last summer we went on a road trip to Ontario, and while we were in Ottawa there was the Star Trek Academy Experience exhibit going on at the Aviation and Space museum. Here are a few photos of the exhibit, Google Drive
  25. The Expanse

Yes, Second season started in January, it picks up right after the end of season one.
